Hey there, lovelies!
Welcome to my corner
I'm Stephanie.
Photographer, Therapist, Storyteller, Wife, and Mom.
If there’s one thing I’ve learned — from both photography and therapy — it’s that people want to feel safe to be seen.
That’s the heartbeat of Empowered Photo.
I approach every session through a trauma-informed lens — creating a calm, grounded space where you can let go of performing and just be. Whether we’re documenting your wedding, your family, or your brand, I want your experience to feel honest, gentle, and deeply connected.
I started this work after years of being a therapist, helping people navigate life’s hardest moments. That background changed the way I see everything — the body language, the emotion that lives between words, the beauty in small gestures. Those are the things I chase with my camera.
My process is slow and intentional. I’ll guide you with prompts that bring out natural connection rather than stiff poses. I’ll look for the way the light wraps around you, the laughter that interrupts directions, the quiet exhale that feels like home. The goal isn’t perfection — it’s presence.
At home, I’m a wife to Cisco (the musician of the family) and a mom to two amazing kids — our daughter Makenzie, who plays competitive volleyball, and our little boy who keeps life joyful and loud. They’re the reason I believe so strongly in preserving stories, because life moves fast and photos help us pause long enough to remember what matters.
Photography, for me, isn’t just art — it’s legacy. It’s a way of saying, this moment mattered.
So if you’re looking for photos that feel real, emotional, and beautifully human — welcome. You’re in the right place.
I cannot wait to get to know you more.

WE ALL HAVE
A STORY
HERE IS MIINE
My journey with photography began in a high school darkroom, where I fell in love with the art of capturing moments on film and developing them by hand. There was something magical about watching an image come to life—an expression frozen in time, filled with emotion and meaning. While photography sparked my passion for storytelling, I also discovered a deep love for working with people. This led me to pursue a master’s degree in social work, where I dedicated myself to helping others feel seen, heard, and valued.
Though my career path initially took me away from the camera, my love for photography never faded. It’s always been there, waiting for the right moment to blend my creative eye with my passion for connecting with people. Today, I feel so lucky to bring both of these worlds together—creating meaningful art while celebrating the beauty in every story.
My background in social work and my years of experience as a therapist have profoundly shaped the way I approach photography. With a master’s degree in social work, I’ve developed a deep understanding of how to create a safe, supportive space for my clients. I use a trauma-informed lens to ensure every person I work with feels valued, respected, and comfortable. It’s incredibly important to me to celebrate people from all walks of life, honoring their individuality and unique journeys. Photography is not just about capturing moments—it’s about building trust and creating a space where your authentic self can shine.

Photographer. Storyteller. Lover of people.

I would recommend Stephanie a million times over and over again. She made it so easy for two people that are very camera shy. Nothing was award our session or uncomfortable. Stephanie made it feel like we were long time friends hanging out the entire time which made taking our pictures feel so natural. She executed my Pinterest board perfectly and really brought it to life. My pictures were exactly what I wanted and more. I got some sneak peaks instantly the next morning. I would definitely recommend choosing empowered Photo for your next special moment.
